Launch of the Eastern Cape Health Crisis Action Coalition (ECHCAC) to tackle the health crisis in the province. A report by TAC and SECTION27 called “Death and Dying in the Eastern Cape” is released, and over 2000 comrades march to the provincial health department in Bhisho to hand a memorandum to MEC Sicelo Gqobana. The National Minister of Health launches an investigation into the state of health in the province following the release of the report.
