A National Intellectual Property Summit is held in Johannesburg by TAC, SECTION27 and MSF to discuss patent law reform in the country. An open letter is presented to the government signed by over 80 organisations and individuals from across the globe, including former United Nations Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, Stephen Lewis, and Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine, John Sulston.
