TAC partners with global NGO Oxfam and the Young Nurses Indaba Trade Union and the ICJ to launch the #Care4Carers campaign. The campaign follows Oxfam’s report, “The Right to Dignified Healthcare Work” which showcased how the unfair labour practices and the poor treatment of healthcare workers has compromised the quality of healthcare and left South Africa with a healthcare system ill-prepared for shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Further, Oxfam’s study finds that between 2016 to 2019, Netcare, Mediclinic and Life Healthcare made R11.7 billion in profit and paid R19.7 billion to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks
