Media Invite – Stop Stockouts Project: Access to contraceptives in South African public health clinics between April and June 2022
For Women’s Month 2022, the Stop Stockouts Project (SSP) invites you to attend the hybrid launch of a new research report entitled “Stop Stockouts Project: Access to contraceptives in South African public health clinics between April and June 2022.”
Key findings indicate that contraceptives now represent the biggest share of medicines stockouts in the public healthcare system. Moreover, the impact of these contraceptive stockouts falls squarely on women and girls. This Women’s Month, the Stop Stockouts Project draws attention to the ongoing problem of contraceptive stockouts across the country and calls on government to ensure a reliable supply of preferred contraceptives.
Speakers include:
- Baone Twala (SECTION27 legal researcher)
- Dr Indira Govender (Rural Doctors of South Africa Association)
- Lucy O’Connell (Key Populations Advisor in MSF Southern Africa Medical Unit (SAMU))
- Sihle Shabalala (Mpumalanga Provincial Manager at Treatment Action Campaign)
Join us as we discuss what these findings mean for women’s sexual and reproductive health.
