Youth together taking Responsibility to end HIV infections

The Treatment Action Campaign in Gauteng is hosting a two day workshop from the 12 to 13 December 2012. The theme of the conference  is "Youth together taking Responsibility to end HIV infections" . The conference will tackle issues around HIV and teenage pregnancy and hopes to educate young people about their reproductive rights. It will also eplore issues around human rights and leadership. The conference has brought 150 teenagers from Mpumalanga and Gauteng.

The conference is aimed at building the youth that takes responsibility and partake positively in the Zero new infections, and hub the continuing teenage pregnancy, build a group of young leaders that can advocate for access to better services for youth.SRHR programme began in 2009 when TAC felt a need to also target young people when it comes to HIV prevention.

The conference will also bring a panel of young people and experts who will debate on issues like Abstinence VS Prevention, Disclosure and Support for youth living with HIV and access to Sexual and reproductive health rights and leadership.
