TAC Khayelitsha celebrates ” Take a Girl Child to Work day”
Take a girl child to to work day is an annual event held in South Africa since 2003. The theme for 2012 is "Choose your tomorrow, today". Some of the objectives is to encourage learners to believe in themselves, make a difference in their own lives and to think about their choices. Today TAC Khayelitsha in collaboration with Nombulelo from SADTU - Belhar/Delft branch, hosted three learners at our Khayelitsha offices, they also visited Sis Mpumi at Ubuntu clinic. The learners were Tania, Zikhona and Noluvuyo from Masibambisani High School in Delft. One of the learners said: "today made me realize the importance of having to protect oneself".
TAC Khayelitsha is double daring all the other TAC offices across the provinces to make a difference in the lives of our young girls so they can see their potential. This is a day that can be celebrated any time of the year!
