Refugee emergency
We are grateful to the many people who helped with the humanitarian relief effort from 23 May to 2 June. Regrettably, the state is still failing to provide sufficient relief. We have therefore stepped up our relief efforts again. TAC continues to need donations for humanitarian relief and our advocacy efforts against xenophobia. Draft Medicines Amendment Bill is incompatible with the scientific governance of medicine

The AIDS Law Project (ALP) and the TAC have made a submission to the Department of Health on the Draft Medicines and Related Substances Amendment Bill, 2008. Unless our substantive concerns are addressed, we will take steps to stop this bill from being enacted.

TAC/ALP submission to the Panel for the Independent Assessment of Parliament

On 12 February 2008, TAC and the AIDS Law Project (ALP) made a submission to the Panel for the Independent Assessment of Parliament. About 30 TAC members attended the session and also heard an excellent submission from the Legal Resources Centre.
