On Saturday 11 October 2008 TAC Khayelitsha hosted 2 very successful TB events.


VT Mxenge branch held a TB workshop at Nolukholo Hall at Site.B which focused on Pulmonary and Extra Pulmonary diagnostics, treatment and also Infection control. They also emphasised the importance of adherence on treatment and the importance of knowing your TB status and they also told people that TB is curable.

On the same day the SST Treatment Action Campaign branchhad A TB Testing Campaign in Town Two at SST Branch. Guest speakers were Kholekile Menziwa from Wolanani, who told people about the services that they offer and a speaker from TB care who encouraged people to come and test for TB and HIV .They were 19 people who tested for HIV, 7 were tested positive and they were referred to Town Two Clinic for medication and tratment.28 people were tested for TB and their result will be back after 6 weeks’
